Give Attention To Your Words!

We were made in the image of God, and in His likeness we have power in our words! In Genesis 1:3 God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. What are we giving light or life to with our words? Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world! We have world overcoming power in our words! As Romans 4:17 says, we can calleth those things which be not as though they were!  In Psalm 33: 6 &9 The word says, By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. For He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. What words are you putting out there to create and develop? Are you speaking negative words or are your speaking positive words? Speak life and live! In Psalm 119:105 The word says, Thy word is a lamp unto my feet. And a light unto my path. What words are you following and letting guide your feet? Is it the word of God? Is it generational paths that no longer serve you or your family? Give way t...

The Good Shepherd!

There are so many example of how the Lord is our shepherd and how we should follow him! As sheep we can be lost, but He will leave the others to find us. As sheep we can need calm waters and green grass, and the good shepherd will provide. As sheep we always need guidance and direction in this life on Earth, and again the good shepherd will provide a roadmap for this journey! In one of the most common verses referring to sheep, The 23 Psalm, the word says, The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me besides the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of shadow of death, I will not fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of...

Obedience Yields Results

We read in Hebrews 11:6 that, But without faith it is impossible to please Him. We must have faith to please God, and to even believe that He is God! The word tells us in Matthew 17:20 ...If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder places; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. If we are to believe that the word is true we should obey it! In John 21:6 the word says, And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. They had been fishing all night and yielded no fish in return, but after being obedient unto the word of Jesus they produced more fish than they were able to handle. The word of God gives us so many examples of individuals being obedient unto God and they yielded results! In Matthew 8:13 the words says, And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believe...

The Peace That Comes With Knowing God!

There is a certain peace and calm that comes with knowing God! God is our father whom we can confidently expect the fruits of the spirit. In Galatians 5: 22-23 love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance are all fruits that are manifested in the spirit of God in our lives! In John 14:27 the word says, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. God is with us and He is a present help in the time of storm.  In Isaiah 26:3 the word says, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on the: because he trusted in thee.  Our trust should not be in this world, but in God who made heaven and Earth. In Philippians 4: 6-7 & 9 the word says, 6 Be careful for nothing: but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding...

Letting Go of Fear, Anxiety, and Worry!

Now that we have started a new year everyone is starting new year resolutions. Some people want to eat healthier. Some want to have better spending habits. And others want to have a closer walk with Christ. These are all good things to incorporate into the new year, but one could also start the new year off by letting go of fear, anxiety and worry. These are not fruits of the spirit and they can hinder one's ability in life.   In 2 Timothy 1:7 it says, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Fear, anxiety, and worry are in this world, but it is not given to us by God. If it is not given to us by God we should not hold onto it.   In Isaiah 26:3 it says, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  We should put all our trust in God! If God is leading us we will not fail and we should not have fear or anxiety following God. In Exodus 14:13-14 it says, And Moses said unt...

The Gift!

Since we are in the month of December I would like to talk about gifts! Biblically thinking there are three types of gifts. There are gifts that we give to one another, like on special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. Then we think of sacrificial offerings presented to God. And lastly, there are gifts God gives to us, such as salvation, righteousness, and His grace. God is the ultimate gift giver and a perfect one at that! I'm referring to especially salvation! In James 1:17 KJV it says, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  In 1 John 2:27 it says, But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you,... This anointing that abides in you is a special gift, the preparation! Then in Ephesians 2:8-9 it says, For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should bo...

Rest For The People of God!

When one thinks of rest they think to cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength. This is what has been promised to the people of God in His word. In Hebrew 4:9-10 it is said, There remains, then a Sabbath-rest for the people of God: For anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. This rest that is spoken of is here on Earth, a rest from works, in which we recover from our labour. We will be refreshed and rejuvenated! In Genesis 2:2-3 it speaks of God's rest from labour, 2. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. There is nothing wrong with working, for the Bible speaks that if a man does not work he does not eat. It also says according to the word that those who trust in the Lord lack...
