Letting Go of Fear, Anxiety, and Worry!

Now that we have started a new year everyone is starting new year resolutions. Some people want to eat healthier. Some want to have better spending habits. And others want to have a closer walk with Christ. These are all good things to incorporate into the new year, but one could also start the new year off by letting go of fear, anxiety and worry. These are not fruits of the spirit and they can hinder one's ability in life.

In 2 Timothy 1:7 it says, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Fear, anxiety, and worry are in this world, but it is not given to us by God. If it is not given to us by God we should not hold onto it.

In Isaiah 26:3 it says, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

We should put all our trust in God! If God is leading us we will not fail and we should not have fear or anxiety following God.

In Exodus 14:13-14 it says, And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. 14. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Since we know that the Old Testament is a roadmap, we should know that this is a testament of what God can do for us! We are to just hold our peace and stand still and we too will see the salvation of the Lord.

In 1 Peter 5:7 it says, casting all your care upon him; for He careth for you.

We as believers are to cast the whole of our cares on God the one that loved us before we knew Him! He cares for us!

In Matthew 6:34 it says, Take therefore no thought for the morrow; for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.

We are to not worry or fret of the things that come tomorrow, but seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things will be added to us.

In Psalm 27:1-2 it says, The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2. When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell!

We should fear no one, because we have God on our side!

Isaiah 41: 13 says, For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

God will hold our right hand and will assure of His help!

Following are a few scriptures that speak on fear and what we should do with it.

Isaiah 41:10 says, Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with right hand of my righteousness.

We are to fear not for God is with us, and will strengthen us!

Isaiah 54:17 also says, No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against the in judgement thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servant of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

In this world weapons may form, but they will not prosper against us!

In Deuteronomy 31:8 it says, And the Lord, He it is that doeth go before thee; He will be with thee, He will not fail thee, neither forsake thee; fear not, neither be dismayed.

With God going before us, we should not fear or be dismayed what is to come!

In Philippians 4:6 says, Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.

We are not to worry, but go to our father God in prayer and tell Him what we have need of!

And also in Psalm 18:6 it says, In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried unto my God; He heard my voice out of His temple, And my cry came before Him, even into His ears.

Then in 2 Chronicles 16:9 it says, For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

God is a present God that wants to work on our behalf! As believers we can just cry out unto Him!
