Obedience Yields Results
We read in Hebrews 11:6 that, But without faith it is impossible to please Him. We must have faith to please God, and to even believe that He is God! The word tells us in Matthew 17:20 ...If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder places; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. If we are to believe that the word is true we should obey it!
In John 21:6 the word says, And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
They had been fishing all night and yielded no fish in return, but after being obedient unto the word of Jesus they produced more fish than they were able to handle.
The word of God gives us so many examples of individuals being obedient unto God and they yielded results!
In Matthew 8:13 the words says, And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
The centurion was one having authority to give orders, so he knew the authority in which Jesus had in his words. The centurion did not hesitate or pause at the word of God (Jesus), but he went at the command and was rewarded for his obedience.
The word of God tells us in Micah 7:7, Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
Are you going to listen to the word of God and obey? It says to wait for God and He will hear you!
In Psalm 27:13-14 it says, I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes wait for and confidently expect the Lord.
The word encourages us to wait with confidence on the Lord, and not to waiver! We should obey what the word is saying to the church!
In 1 Samuel 15:22 it says, And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to hearken than the fat of rams.
Are you going to obey the word of God that has been given unto us to encourage us to wait? Obedience to the word of God yields results. In James 1:4 tells us to let patience have her perfect work, that ye maybe perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thing own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.
Then in Proverbs 16:9 it tells us, A. man's heart deviseth his ways: But the Lord directeth his steps.
If you have come unto an area of your life where you don't know what to do, or you need direction go to the word of God! We are not to lean on our own understanding, but yield to the directions of God and obey the all knowing one!
