Refraining from Sin!

To refrain from an action is to stop oneself from doing something. One should refrain from sin! Yes, there is grace, but that does not give a person the ability to freely sin. The Bible says, God forbid when it comes to sinning!

In Romans 6:1-2 it says, What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

After we have received Christ as our savior, we are set apart and are to live after the example of Jesus Christ!

Then it continues in Romans 6:3-4 to say, Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death? There we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life.

We are no longer under the law, but Romans 6:15 says, What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

The Bible says, God forbid when it comes to sin! We as believers should have the mind of Christ!

Philippians 2:5 says, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

When one is lead away that person is lead away to sin by their own lust!

In James 1:13-14 says, Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

When one has not taken on the full armor of God and His spirit that person has a form of godliness. That is like one going to church, but not being the church in which Christ dwells. That is like one staggering between hot and cold, depending on the company in which they are keeping...being lukewarm!

In 2 Timothy 3:5 it says, Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Be not lukewarm or having a form of godliness, but be ye filled with the fruits of the Spirit!

In Galatians 5:22-23 it speaks of the fruits of the Spirit, which is the Holy Spirit; But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

For in 1 Corinthians 11:31 AMP says, But if we evaluated and judged ourselves honestly (recognizing our shortcomings and correcting our behavior), we would not be judged.
