Deliverance From The Valley

The very word valley is defined as a low area of land between two hills or mountains, typically with a river or stream flowing through it. Then Biblically valley can be defined as a hard circumstance. Just imagine walking through a dark area of your life; not having much light because of mountains or obstacles, feeling every cold breeze, and not knowing what is on the other side of the mountain waiting to pounce you at any given moment! But there is hope, STILL in the valley. There is a good shepherd that guides the way; even in danger the shepherd guides the way, protects and comforts! Looking at Psalm 23:4 it says, Yea, though I walk ( not run because of fear or terror) through the valley of the shadow (cold and not much light) of death, I will (not maybe) fear no evil; for thou art with me; (being my shepherd and not leaving my side) thy rod (protect) and thy staff (guide) they comfort me (console). Walking through a sunless valley means that we have to depend on the light, which is...

Show us the Way(s) Lord!

In the days that we are currently living in many people are seeking guidance. Seeking guidance from books and other people, but the true self-help book is the Bible! Our paths may look differently, but the word of God is the true source of direction and guidance. Many people look at other people's paths and think that is the way to go, but in the word of God it speaks of paths, not just one path! Clearly in Proverbs 3:6 it says, In all thy ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct thy paths. It doesn't say in all thy way and one path, because as life goes on we change our minds, hopefully as we learn God's ways more and find clearer direction. Then in Psalm 23:3 the word says, He refreshes and restores my soul; He leads me in then paths of righteousness for His name's sake. So, even in this walk of life with Christ there are more than one clear path? Some are teachers, preachers, deacons, missionaries, and some are just church members seeking God's will for our live...

Still Have Faith

As we continue in the holiday season and start a new year we also need to still have faith in God concerning the things we are believing for. We may have old prayers that we have forgotten. We may have new prayers that are urgent to us. And we may have daily prayers that we confess and believe for. We should hold fast to our profession/confessions and prayers to God, seeing that He is faithful and true!  As Hebrew 11:1 says in the KJV, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We may not see our prayers answered immediately, but God always steps in on time.  Then in Hebrew 11:6 it says, But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.  We have to have faith to please God. We are given a measure of faith, and we are to build on this faith by reading the word of God. We have to have faith even to believe that God is who He is...

Being Mindful of Whom We Entertain!

As the Holiday Season is coming up many people are getting invites to family and friends homes. Fellowship with other believers is always good and pleasant, but are we just entertaining with the righteous? Are we entertaining those that have bad influence on us? Here are a few scriptures to guide your fellowships going forward! The word says in Luke 6:28 to bless and show kindness to those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. But that does not mean we have to entertain and fellowship with them! God is love and we are to walk in love with all, but letting people into our homes and place of peace is different! Matthew 7:6 says, Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. We as believers have to be mindful what we give unto others, especially when it is giving of ourselves! Sinners do not treasure what believers treasure, and they do not hold what we as believers hold ...

Give Attention To Your Words!

We were made in the image of God, and in His likeness we have power in our words! In Genesis 1:3 God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. What are we giving light or life to with our words? Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world! We have world overcoming power in our words! As Romans 4:17 says, we can calleth those things which be not as though they were!  In Psalm 33: 6 &9 The word says, By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. For He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. What words are you putting out there to create and develop? Are you speaking negative words or are your speaking positive words? Speak life and live! In Psalm 119:105 The word says, Thy word is a lamp unto my feet. And a light unto my path. What words are you following and letting guide your feet? Is it the word of God? Is it generational paths that no longer serve you or your family? Give way t...

The Good Shepherd!

There are so many example of how the Lord is our shepherd and how we should follow him! As sheep we can be lost, but He will leave the others to find us. As sheep we can need calm waters and green grass, and the good shepherd will provide. As sheep we always need guidance and direction in this life on Earth, and again the good shepherd will provide a roadmap for this journey! In one of the most common verses referring to sheep, The 23 Psalm, the word says, The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me besides the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of shadow of death, I will not fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of...

Obedience Yields Results

We read in Hebrews 11:6 that, But without faith it is impossible to please Him. We must have faith to please God, and to even believe that He is God! The word tells us in Matthew 17:20 ...If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder places; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. If we are to believe that the word is true we should obey it! In John 21:6 the word says, And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. They had been fishing all night and yielded no fish in return, but after being obedient unto the word of Jesus they produced more fish than they were able to handle. The word of God gives us so many examples of individuals being obedient unto God and they yielded results! In Matthew 8:13 the words says, And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believe...
