God, The Giver!
God, our Father and the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, is the ultimate giver!
In James 1:17 KJV it says, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow or turning.
It also says in Philippians 4:19 KJV, But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
God knows all things, so He knows exactly what the perfect gift would be, we just need to ask the Father in faith!
Then in James 1:5 KJV it says, If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given.
God wants His children to obtain knowledge and He will give it to us pertaining to life and godliness. We are to ask of the Father, which upbraideth not!
In Matthew 6:9- 13 God gave us an example as how to pray. "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name....."
To think of the beginning of the Lord's Prayer in says Hallowed be thy name, in which hallow means to honor as holy, it shows us how to honor and worship God in prayer. This is an example which can be used daily.
Then in John 3:16 it says, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God is so giving that He gave part of Himself, Jesus (Part of the Trinity), who dies for us, then God gives us a measure of faith to believe in Him. Then God gives us a comforter the Holy Spirit which is also part of Him to guide us in all our ways. Then He gives us the Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) a letter to His children given by way of holy instruction and guidance.
Then in Hebrew 4:16 KJV, it says , Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
It also says in Ephesians 2:8 KJV, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God!
By way of the throne of God we obtain grace and mercy which is renewed daily, and are saved!
Then in Lamentations 3:22-23 it says, It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
To define grace, it is the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and bestowal of blessings.
Then to define mercy, it is the compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm.
God is a loving and giving God, and He gives us renewed grace and mercy daily!
