Renew the right spirit in us!
When you look at yourself you see the person you have become over said many years. You have matured physically, but how do you look spiritually? Being Christians we should line up with the attributes that are associated with being a child of God. We have to be renewed!
Psalm 51:10-19
King James Version
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
If one does not know how to renew the right spirit within themselves it comes from spending time in God's word. We have to learn how we should act and behave as being dearly loved children of God.
Matthew 4:4
New International Version
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’
Others should see God's love through our actions towards them. The more we resist actions that are not godly the more we will cultivate our love walk and Christian actions.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you
Putting away things of old should bring about a newness in Christ to be a light unto the world. Put on the whole armour of God so that we can resist those things that aren't of God.
Ephesians 6:11-18
King James Version
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
We are free to do as we choose, but certain actions are not uplifting God and aren't becoming as dear saints and children of God.
Galatians 5: 13-14; 22-26
New International Version
13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
As dearly loved children of God we should walk in a way that is becoming as imitators of our Father God!
Ephesians 5:1-2
New International Version
1 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
And being a great father, God has equipped us with the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us to do those godly actions, and to bring the word back to our remembrance!
John 14:16-18
New International Version
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[a] in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
